HandoverBoard

For restaurants and cafés

Shift handover for restaurants and cafés — kitchen and floor on the same page

A busy service leaves behind things the next shift needs to know: ingredients that ran out, equipment acting up, special requests for tomorrow. HandoverBoard is one shared board of sticky notes the whole team can open on their phone or the kitchen tablet.

Ran out of ingredients, prep not done

Cream ran out mid-service and the pesto never got made. With a note on the board, the morning crew knows what to order and what to prep before lunch.

Equipment acting up during service

The walk-in is making noises or the dishwasher leaves glasses cloudy. Attach a photo to the note, and when it's marked done the board shows who handled it and when.

Bookings and special requests

Saturday's large party has allergies, or a cake is being dropped off. Pin the note to the top of the board so it stays in front of everyone.

Info for the whole team

A new dish on the menu or changed opening hours needs no action, but everyone should know. Mark it "For info only" and staff confirm they've read it with a thumbs-up.

How HandoverBoard fits a restaurant shift

  • Address a note to a specific person or a whole group, such as the kitchen or the floor team.
  • "Requires action" and "For info only" keep tasks separate from announcements.
  • A photo on the note shows the fault, the delivery or the shelf without a long explanation.
  • When it's handled, the note is marked done and moves to the archive with its comments.
